Why Are They Called Children In Hotels Aged Under 15 But In Air Travel Only Under 11?

When you book for holidays, getting a plane ticket, your children have to travel as adults (higher priced tickets) after the age of 11. But, in hotels you can book a 12 year old under a child booking for your family.!!! What sense is that????

Businesses and companies vary. Not every single one that you come across will have the same policies. Be grateful if you can get ANY discount.

That’s because on a plane, the 12 year old child takes up a seat just like an adult. But in a hotel, the 12 year old does not get his own room. Also, children can fly unaccompanied, but cannot stay in a hotel unaccompanied by an adult.

Each hotel and airline, and for that matter, theater, and amusement park is an independent business. They can make their rules, admission policies, and prices any way they like. I live in Mexico. Here the bus lines charge by how tall a child is, not how old he is!! It is their busline and they can run it any way they like.
