When Doing An Online Hotel Search, Is It Possible To Bring Up “mom & Pop” Type Of Hotels Along With Name Brand?

If so, how do you do it. I generally stay in the smaller not-so-nice hotels due to my limited budget but generally speaking, I can only find them on the way to my destinations not ahead of time online.

  • Legend Lady* says:

If you know the city or town you will be or are wanting to stay in, try these*http://www.yellowpages.com/ – Cached – Similar – http://www.theyellowpages.com/ – Cached – Similar -

  • Many “Mom & Pop” places aren’t a part of the majority of 3rd party hotel booking sites (like hotels.com, etc.)….so, finding them is a bit more difficult.
However, if you are looking for cheap, I use http://www.resideo.com/ Search for the city you are looking to stay in, then do a quote for the dates you are looking to stay. When the results appears, sort them by price — that’ll put the cheapest places first.
    Hope that helps!

  • Do a search for hotels and when it asks for your price range put in the smaller amount. The mom and pops will only come up if they have a website or a contract with a travel agency.
